Memorial Day Weekend in Sea Isle City

It’s Memorial Day weekend here in sunny Sea Isle City. The crowds have come and the weather looks great for our tourism. Memorial Day weekend is usually cold and dreary, but this year we have the weather with us. As I walked the streets last night, I could almost smell the hormones and testosterone from the young men and women enjoying themselves as the weekend started off.

It’s going to be a great summer!!!

Beach Tags and Rental Properties

As a real estate agent, one of the most common questions I have from upcoming renters is whether or not there are beach tags included with the property. Our policy at the agency I work for is to tell tenants that most likely, there will not be tags there at the property, but if there are, that is a bonus. The reason we give this information to our tenants is because about 15% of the owners will leave tags for their visitors, but there is no guarantee that they will be in the property once the tenants arrive. Other renters may loose, or leave the unit with the tags attached to their towels or bathing suits, and the owners do not replace them once they are gone.

For this reason, we tell our tenants that there is a good chance that there are no tags, but they can be purchased on the beach for $8.00/week or $4.00/day. This way there will be no disappointment or anger if the tags are not available once they arrive. Until we as an agency are guaranteed the tags will be available to our customers, we will continue to tell the truth about the tags.

Vineland, Millville, Bridgeton Top NJ Real Estate Market Forecast

According to CNNMoney, one of the best locations for real estate growth through 2007 turns out to be South Jersey’s Vineland/Millville/Bridgeton region which they foresee as having an 8.5% price growth. One of the reasons for this regions growth is its location. Because it is located about halfway between Philadelphia and the South Jersey Shore points (Atlantic City, Cape May County, etc.), many professionals are choosing to have the best of both worlds: a job in Philly and a short drive down to the shore.

Vacation Alert: Sea Isle City and Bicycling

I recently noticed that the two bicycle rental shops in Sea Isle are no longer around. The building of both have been torn down for new development. Vacationers should consider bringing bikes for the family from home. There has been some talk around town that there may be a rental shop available, but I’m not so sure. I would think that it would now be a very lucrative business and some business owner would capitalize on it. Visitors love to ride bikes. So lets hope that someone acts on this idea and bike rentals will be a part of the Sea Isle tradition.

Sea Isle City: Play by the Bay

Sea Isle City’s “Play by the Bay” playground for children was torn down recently because the pressure treated wood used in the playground uses chemicals such as arsenic to protect it from bugs. But don’t worry!!! The City has started a new playground that will be “State of the Art”. This playground, which the city of Sea Isle received funding through Cape May County’s Municipal Public Improvements Pooled Financing Program, is going to cost approximately $430,000.00.
So vacationers can expect this playground to be completed sometime in Mid June. So come to Sea Isle and bring the kids!!!

Cinco DeMayo

May is here in Sea Isle and the out of state owners, and visitors are starting to come back. Sea Isle promoted its resort town by having a “Cinco DeMayo” party at Kixx Friday evening with a free buffet and band.

On Saturday the promenade was crowded with Sea Isle’s annual Pet Parade. Many pets and their owners strutted around while on lookers enjoyed the pagentry.

Sea Isle is starting to rise from its quiet surroundings and will do so until we kick off our summer on Memorial Day Weekend. Come to Sea Isle and have a blast!!!

Parrot Head “Feeding Frenzy”

Last Saturday night was the annual “Feeding Frenzy” that is sponsored by the South Jersey Parrot Head Club, and held at the Ocean Drive in Sea Isle City. As usual, a Jimmy Buffet band plays and a “Cheeseburger in Paradise” buffet is offered for the $10.00 donation. All proceeds from this event are donated to a worthy cause in South Jersey. The occasion was fun for all and I applaud those involved for all the effort they make.
